Brickhouse Soaps is a local apothecary and bath company focusing on natural skincare while upholding hand craftsmanship and the environment. We use natural ingredients such as Shea butter, cocoa butter, and coconut oil. We also distill many of our own essential oils from local herbs and flowers (grown by Laughing Stalk Farms in Cape Girardeau, MO.) Each product is handmade, hand-poured, and hand-packaged in containers that can be recycled.
Our soap making journey was started in 2004, after several attempts to find a plain unscented soap bar gentle enough for a cancer patient’s skin at the grocery store. After researching and experimenting for my grandfather, we finally came up with a glycerin formula that not only was gentle, but also provided moisture. Many family members and friends also loved this soap which helped to spread the word and the demand grew over the years. There were people asking about soap for many skin conditions. They tried our soap and it did help. I’m so happy that it was able to make a difference in their life. After knowing that so many people had skin needs and there were either a limited number of products or very boring products, I wanted to start a business to offer a credible yet fun line. So we established Brickhouse Soaps January 2015.
We offer many products that are kind to sensitive skin, psoriasis, eczema, acne, and other skin conditions. Our products are also fun, fragrant, and art inspired. We want to give our customers an experience through sight and smell rather than a plain product that just gets the job done.
